Akerman's recently appointed Chief Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Officer, Cassandra Caldwell, shared her insights on the state of DEI in Big Law with Law.com last week. Caldwell told the legal industry news outlet that, among other things, law firms must emphasize retaining diverse attorneys as much as recruiting them.

"Firms with highly inclusive cultures will win the war for talent because all employees will feel they belong at the firm and can thrive," she told Law.com.
