Press Release

We are proud to share that Jasmine Pitt, a litigation associate in our Winston-Salem office, has been selected by the Triad Business Journal as an honoree for the 2023 "Leaders in Diversity Awards." The award recognizes the outstanding organizations and outspoken individuals who are going above and beyond to bolster equality across all areas of diversity, including age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion and socio-economic backgrounds.

"Through her continued dedication and participation in several community outreach programs and non-profit organizations, Jasmine has demonstrated her commitment to assuring continued diversity within the community and the legal field," said Paul Foley, Akerman's Winston-Salem office managing partner. "Despite having a busy practice focused on commercial litigation in state and federal courts, Jasmine makes time to give back, so she can do her part in effecting change. She is a true inspiration."

Pitt was named a "Pathfinder" earlier this year by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, as well as "One to Watch" by The Best Lawyers in America and a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers.

Pitt's practice focuses on commercial litigation in state and federal courts. She has experience analyzing and navigating business disputes, general liability, insurance defense, and contract disputes. Her clients include credit unions, small and medium-sized businesses, and insurance companies. She also has experience handling appellate matters.
