Law360 reported on the historic virtual oral arguments delivered by Katherine Giddings and Marcy Aldrich in two separate cases on the first day of arguments for the Florida Supreme Court. The arguments were delivered via videoconference due to the ongoing pandemic.

Giddings argued on behalf of medical marijuana company Florigrown LLC in a case challenging whether the State of Florida has properly carried out a 2016 constitutional amendment that broadly legalized marijuana for patients. Lower courts have previously sided with Florigrown, which argues a state law conflicts with the constitutional amendment.

In a separate case, Aldrich delivered arguments in a case challenging the personal injury protection provisions of an insurer’s automobile insurance policy.
