Meg George, a partner in Akerman's Real Estate Practice Group and member of the firm's Executive Committee, has been named to Crain's Chicago Business' 2026 list of Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consulting and Law. The recognition honors professionals who reshape client service, lead high-stakes legal matters, and strengthen their communities through mentorship, board service, and civic investment.

Meg advises clients on a wide range of real estate and municipal law matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, land use and zoning, licensing, and permitting. She represents owners and developers across a variety of asset classes and regularly appears before municipal boards and commissions throughout the Chicago area. Meg is ranked by Chambers USA for Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use in Illinois and recognized by The Legal 500 for Real Estate – Land Use/Zoning. She has also been named a "Women of Influence" honoree by GlobeSt. and has been previously recognized by Crain's Chicago Business as one of Chicago's Notable Women Lawyers.

A steadfast advocate for sustainability and wellness in and beyond the legal profession, Meg serves as chair of Akerman Strong, the firm's wellness initiative, and sits on the board of directors of the Akerman Foundation. She is also a U.S. Green Building Council LEED-accredited professional and member of the Chicago Sustainability Task Force.
