Akerman is proud to share that Corporate Special Counsel Daniel Andres Silva and International Practice Chair Pedro Freyre represented private equity firm Fourshore Partners in its acquisition of Power Funding, a premier factoring company focused on the oil, gas, and transportation industries.
Fourshore Partners is a Miami-based private equity firm that focuses on lower middle market buyouts in the U.S. and Caribbean. Fourshore targets companies generating between $2 million and $15 million in EBITDA with enterprise values between $10 million and $75 million.
Silva served as Akerman's lead attorney overseeing this transaction. His practice focuses on M&A, private equity investments, joint ventures, securities transactions, and day-to-day corporate governance matters. He has counseled public, private, and start-up companies in a variety of corporate matters including M&A, restructurings, financings, fund formations, and private placements. Last year, Silva was named to the Miami Dade Bar Association's "40 Under 40" list and a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers Magazine.
Freyre advises multinational and global corporations on a wide range of cross-border M&A, joint ventures, capital markets transactions, syndicated and secured lending, project finance, debt restructuring, trade, and compliance, as well as complex construction and other international disputes. He is an internationally recognized authority on the U.S. embargo on Cuba and the evolving regulations enacted since the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Most recently, he has been instrumental in guiding clients with respect to the defense of claims arising from the implementation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act.
