Angelica Fortney advises public and private employers on the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefit and executive compensation programs. Her practice focuses on tax-qualified and 403(b) retirement plans, health and welfare benefits, and incentive compensation arrangements.

Angelica counsels clients on benefit plan administration, contract negotiation, fiduciary considerations, and evolutions in the law and commercial landscape. She regularly advises on plan compliance solutions, including correcting errors under governmental programs (e.g., EPCRS, VFCP, and DFVCP) and resolving governmental audits and penalty assessments. In addition, she provides strategic guidance on diligence findings and benefit plan integration in connection with employee benefits and compensation issues arising in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

She also advises employers on equity and incentive compensation arrangements, including matters involving Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code.
