Michael Curley is a real estate and urban planning professional with a concentration in land use, zoning, and environmental impact review. His practice focuses on land use and zoning diligence, planning analysis, and applications for discretionary approvals with governmental agencies including the New York City Planning Commission, Department of City Planning, Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and the Board of Standards and Appeals. Clients value his knowledge and experience navigating complex land use, zoning, and environmental review matters, including matters subject to the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Prior to joining Akerman, Michael worked as an urban planner at an interdisciplinary consulting firm where he prepared planning studies and guided large-scale development projects and policy initiatives through the environmental review process on behalf of public, private, and not-for-profit clients. He is a certified planner by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
