Having spent nearly a decade working for a national biopharmaceutical company, including five years in management, Tom Range possesses invaluable experience in the biotechnology sector, which allows him to better serve his broad client base.  Because he has worked in facilities regulated by the FDA, the State of Florida, and foreign authorities, Tom understands the challenges facing companies whose success depends on their ability to navigate often-murky regulatory waters.

Tom's background allows him to help his clients resolve licensing, change of ownership/acquisition, regulatory, and litigation matters before the Agency for Health Care Administration, Department of Health, Office of Insurance Regulation, Department of Financial Services, and other Florida agencies.  Tom has 15 years' experience handling regulatory and licensing issues for health insurers, HMOs, and insurance agents as well as health care clinics, clinical laboratories, home health agencies, hospices, and other providers.  Performing significant work for both health care providers and payors allows Tom to bring his expertise to bear in guiding clients toward resolving difficult regulatory issues.

In addition to his regulatory practice, Tom has significant experience assisting with litigation matters, including high-profile cases, in federal, state, and administrative forums.  He also advises clients on Florida's public records law.

In the community, Tom participates in Akerman's Give Back Campaign, which partners with the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Association and local CASA and Guardian ad Litem programs in helping them serve at-risk youth and those in need.  As a lifelong dog lover, Tom also believes animal rescue and rehabilitation groups such as the local Humane Society and St. Francis Wildlife Association enhance a community's overall quality of life, and he supports their missions whenever possible.
