Will Hoy is Co-Chair of Akerman’s M&A and Private Equity Practice, where he leads a team advising private equity sponsors, family offices, and their portfolio companies on complex investment strategies. He is recognized as one of the leading private equity lawyers in New York, with deep experience structuring and executing leveraged acquisitions and dispositions, roll-ups, recapitalizations, and growth equity transactions across the middle market.
Will is known for his ability to structure and execute buy-and-build strategies — creating acquisition platform structures from the ground up and managing the complexity of high-volume add-on strategies. His work spans a broad range of sectors, including business services, residential and commercial services, healthcare, financial services, industrial and niche manufacturing, value-added distribution, specialty chemicals, consumer products, and logistics.
Will also represents management teams in sponsor-backed companies navigating change-of-control transactions, as well as private clients in mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and general corporate matters.
