Akerman is joining with the Florida Bar Foundation and the Appellate Section of The Florida Bar to sponsor a seminar for legal service lawyers titled "Appellate Practice A to Z." The CLE event is being provided free of charge to Miami-based legal service lawyers and to private practice lawyers who volunteer to accept a pro bono appeal. Akerman Partner-In-Charge of Pro Bono William Van Nortwick and Akerman Partners Gerald Cope and Carrie Ann Wozniak will speak at the event as part of a distinguished panel of local Judges and lawyers. Hosted by Akerman's Miami office, the seminar will provide in-depth training for lawyers who represent low-income individuals in appellate matters.
