Amy Simmons focuses her practice on complex corporate transactions and governance matters, including debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, secured lending, separations and divestitures, equity plan administration and reorganizations and recapitalizations. She has experience representing both public and private companies and has represented clients in a diverse range of industries, including energy, infrastructure, retail, service, hospitality, healthcare, communications and security. 

Prior to joining Akerman, Amy was a senior corporate associate at a law firm in Austin, Texas. She has also practiced in New York in the global finance group of a leading international law firm, representing borrowers, lenders and other financial institutions in a variety of secured and unsecured lending transactions, including asset-based financings, junior and mezzanine debt, subscription facilities and other banking and credit matters.
