Michael Larson focuses his practice on environmental law, advising clients on a range of complex environmental law issues arising in regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters. He routinely assists clients with the cleanup, reuse, and redevelopment of Brownfields and other contaminated properties. Michael frequently guides clients through obtaining environmental regulatory closure of contaminated sites and advises on environmental permitting and compliance matters. As part of these efforts, he has worked on many transformative redevelopment projects throughout Florida and has substantial experience dealing with regulatory agencies. Michael's practice includes performing significant environmental due diligence and aiding in the evaluation of potential risks, and risk management strategies, relating to environmental impacts. He also represents clients in environmental administrative litigation relating to agency permitting or final agency action.

Michael also has significant appellate litigation experience, handling appeals from their inception through briefing, oral argument, and rehearing. He has briefed, argued, or otherwise participated in more than 150 appeals before numerous state and federal appellate courts.

Further, Michael has experience with international trade-related litigation and appeals, with an emphasis on tariff and antidumping disputes. Before joining Akerman, Michael was an attorney in the New York City office of an international law firm.
