Represented global insurance company in complex dispute over coverage under a medical facility’s Director’s and Officer’s Policy related to fraud claims and claims under the False Claims Act and anti-kickback statutes asserted by the federal government. Plaintiffs sought defense and indemnity costs in excess of $8 million. Through discovery and negotiation, was able to effectively posture the case and obtain a favorable settlement on behalf of insurer.

Represented national insurance company in dispute over coverage under a contractor’s general liability policy arising from the personal injuries of a subcontractor. The insurer argued the claim was excluded and sought the recovery of defense costs incurred in the underlying liability lawsuit. Through motion practice, including a motion for summary judgment, and effective negotiation, was able to obtain a favorable settlement from the contractor.
